Anyone know why the prices are significantly lower in that article than anywhere else? LG and other websites posted price for the 77" was $10k but here it's only $9k? Same goes for the 65" C, was listed as $4k but here it's listed as $3500?

I copied and pasted prices directly from the press release.

That's cool if the updated prices are true! Was just wondering why the LG website would have the TV's listed as $1k - $500 more. I"m not very in the know with how companies market their products and sells them though. Is it usual practice that they will release info. to the public with prices that are quite a bit different than what their own website claims? Hoping the cheaper prices stick! Lol, now I may have to cancel my order. Having a B7 delivered tomorrow, but if I can get the B8 for $3500 and not 4k I'll probably go that route now instead.

I'll ask LG for clarification, I see what you are saying. I've double-checked the press release and it is different than what's on LG's website.

That’s what I was thinking, that’s pretty aggressive for a 77” OLED. If not this year then next we may finally see large OLEDs crack the under-$5,000 barrier, and that opens up the door for many more buyers.

Why Why Why does LG keep using IPS panels instead of VA for their non OLED tvs??? Maybe I'm one of the only ones in the boat, but I think black levels are more important than viewing angle.... I'd never buy a LG non OLED tv because of that!

Compared to past years, absolutely. But you can get a 75" Sony 940e for $3k if you shop around. The OLED is obviously better, but not 3x better. It would have to drop to around $6k to interest me.

I wonder if any of these TVs, specifically the 75 inch version will support loss less Dolby True HD?

I believe LG is the only company with a full IPS lineup. There are some people and situations where the wider viewing angle is important, and if you want a VA panel you can choose from Sony, Vizio, Hisense, TCL, Samsung, etc. LG has the market cornered on IPS.

Yeah... that is the first thing I thought too when reading this - the prices listed are lower than LG has on their website...

And contrary to Forbes listed prices yesterday...

The prices in my post are accurate, confirms LG in an email I just received.

"Those prices listed in the release are the correct pricing for each model." - LG

Well, hot damn!

The 77" is $1,000 cheaper!

Can you give us a link to the Press Release?

It will be interesting to see if the cheaper 77" panel will find its way to Sony and Panasonic as well later this year.

Well, I won't be the first to purchase the 65C, but I sure will be most interested to find out if the color uniformity issue is fixed. I'd also like to wait until at least the first reduction in price. Doesn't that usually come within 3-4 months of release?

You bet. $9,000 for the 77" OLED. Sure has dropped in price.

I remember a few years ago driving to Las Vegas (400 miles for me one way) just to see the new 77" LG OLED at a cost of $24,999.99.

Been saving for 5 years to upgrade my HT to 4K and had placed a pre-order for the 77” C8 at the first announced price so this big price drop is great. Will buy me a bunch of 4K movies. Can't wait to get this.
